Re: Gay or Lesbian Family?

We have a gay couple couple living next to us. They are very nice people and I would trust my kids life in their hand's.

Re: Gay or Lesbian Family?

Wow.. this thread is giving me the feeling that we are safe here. I am a potentially asexual female married to a straight man. We have 2 beautiful kids. I had no idea what asexuality was until my husband read an article somewhere and came home to tell me he thought I might be asexual. I keep hoping that it will be more tied up in some of my medical issues, but he doesn't think so. I wonder if there are any other asexuals out here?

Re: Gay or Lesbian Family?

My wife and I have been together for 6 years, married for 4, and had the most beautiful baby boy in May of 2013 (so he is 8 months old now, time flies)! We tried once to get pregnant with frozen sperm from a sperm bank, then found a donor and entered into a contract with him, and after two tries got pregnant. I was the one that carried the baby, and it was such an amazing journey. From the planning, the TTCing, that pregnancy, birth, and now motherhood. The best thing that's ever happened to me. We live in Texas and did the second-parent adoption process too, so my wife could have 100% legal parental rights over our son. We couldn't be a happier family! Good luck to you and your TTCing!

ps) I got pregnant in August and had him in May, which I personally think is the best timing, but it'll happen when it happens and it'll be perfect!

I don't think I've posted here yet! My partner and I have been together for 6 years, have an 18 month old daughter and a baby boy who's due this May. (yikes!)

We used a known donor and I conceived on the very first try both pregnancies. I tracked my fertility for six months the first time and two months the second time. We're so blessed and our donor is incredible!

My partner has adopted our daughter and will adopt our son too. We live in PA outside of Pittsburgh.

So that's us!

Re: Gay or Lesbian Family?

Oh, yay! I'm so glad to see other LGBT moms here. I was thinking I was the only one until I saw the thread, since it seems like most people on DS have very traditional families. I'm a queer mommy and have been married to my wife since last June. We have two kids together-- my daughter, who was born in a previous relationship, and our son who is due in July.

Re: Gay or Lesbian Family?

I felt very alone at first, too, but DS is actually pretty welcoming.

I haven't been on DS in a long time so it awesome to see so many more LGBT etc etc etc families here! My daughter from a previous relationship is now 5 (wow) and my future wife and I don't have plans for another LO until at least next year. I can't wait but I am also anxious about the journey. Things aren't so easy here in the south since we can't get married or adopt yet :-/
