Crock pot stink won't go away!

I love my crock pot, but it ALWAYS smells like whatever i cooked in it last. Its not that big of a deal when i'm making a different kind of soup with similar flavor, but when i make yogurt in the crock pot and it ends up tasting like chili... thats a little annoying.
Is there something wrong with my crock pot or is this normal?? Its ceramic with a glass lid. I have tried soaking it, scrubbing with baking soda paste, leaving baking soda in it to absorb smell... It seems like the lid smells too. any input would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried a vinegar soak? Just fill with water and add a good sized splash of vinegar and let soak for an hour or so. Then wash as usual.

For water bottles, DH suggested a denture cleaner soak, it worked. Maybe it would work here too?

Maybe the glaze are your crock is scratched up and microscopic bits are getting stuck in it. I would buy a new crockpot since there isn't a way to repair the glaze.

Mine smells too and it's brand new so I don't think there's any miniscule cracks settling in. I never bothered with it but I don't make yogurt in it.

Solution...buy another crock pot just for yogurt

This. Smells accumulate when things are porous. I would buy a new one. And let's just not even think about the fact that it being porous makes bacteria accumulate too. Just sayin.

I'm also in the "get a new crock pot" camp.

Unless you decide to officially invent and market your chili flavored yogurt. "All of the chili taste and only 1/2 of the calories. Now with live active cultures!"

LOL! chili yogurt.

I had not even considered that he glaze may be damaged. thank you mamas thats why i posted here! multiple brains to solve a single crock pot issue.
I originally bought it at a thrift store so theres definitely a possibility that the previous owner used metal utensils and things even though i am pretty careful

Thanks again!!
