Thoughts On Baby Trend Expedition Travel System?

We went to BRU this morning to look at travel systems and we really like the way the Baby Trend Expedition ELX Travel System Stroller looks, but we don't know much about it. I don't even know much about the Baby Trend brand in general. I would love to hear opinions on either the brand or the specific stroller/car seat.

I'd also welcome other recommendations for a different travel system. We would like it to be a jogging stroller, around or under $250, and girly if possible (not necessary).

Thanks!

Skip it. The seat is not user friendly at all and the stroller is cheaply made. My recommendation is to find a good quality jogging stroller used on craigslist (Baby Jogger, BOB, Mountain Buggy, etc would be under $200 used).

I'd recommend putting the baby directly into the stroller or you could get a snap-n-go.

Re: Thoughts On Baby Trend Expedition Travel System?

I have it and I didn't find the stroller bad, I use it all the time for our runs/walks. I hated the car seat and bought a different one and thankful I did because he would have been out of it at 6 months of age. Also the car seat does not fit small newborns well. I also only spent $80 on my system, my dh found it on a clearance sale.

I like the stroller. Never had the seat.

I hate the seat. Its not at all user friendly, hard to adjust, and its very narrow towards the legs. The at roller is OK for jogging and works great as a regular stroller but its big.

Thanks for the replies! I think I'll look into something different. I don't want to end up with a seat we'll hate, especially since we'll be using that more than the stroller.

Generally, it's better not to do the travel systems. Find a seat you like, and a stroller you like because the time you can (or should) use them together is so limited. In the long run, you'll save money because you won't keep buying cheap strollers or cheap seats to replace the ones you hate (if you can't tell, I speak from experience . )

I agree with Jess. Find a stroller you like (joggers are easier to pair with since many popular ands have adapters) and then pick the seat. Many find that having two different kinds of strollers is helpful. I always have a jogger and an umbrella. I love my bob revolution and have been using a Maclaren quest for years. They serve different purposes and I love that. The bob have a carseat adapter option to allow you to use with a car seat, so does citi mini.

And, for the record, if I were in the market right now for an infant seat and a jogger: A Baby Jogger City Elite (got mine used on CL. I LOVE this stroller. It's primarily for my 52lb 6 year old with a disability, and still pushes like a dream) and either a Graco Snugride 35 or a Chicco KeyFit 30.
