Suggestions for Bible Study Curriculum

I'm looking for something we can do together as a family that won't bore my 10 and 6 year old girls. We will do this a few times a week, as part of our homeschooling. Any suggestions?

We are starting Apolgia's bible program this year and I am really excited. I know parts of it will be over my 4yo's head, and I might need to simplify it some for my 6 yo, but I love that it is more than just bible stories- it gets in deep to the nitty gritty and is something that will be good for even me and DH.

Re: Suggestions for Bible Study Curriculum

Instead of using a curriculum, we attend Community Bible Study once a week. They have them all over. Ours has a great children's program and there is a homeschool class for school-aged kids. They do the same study as we do, but their workbook is geared for their age. There is an assignment for every day and then you discuss it at the weekly meeting. We love it.

Bible Study Guide for All Ages is wonderful. You can choose the appropriate level sheets for each of your kids but teach the same lesson to both of them. You don't really need any of the extras like the teacher's guide. You can teach it just using the lesson pages which are inexpensive. The Bible summary cards are useful too!

I would recommend finding a local AWANA club. The kids will love it and you can do the lessons together!

Re: Suggestions for Bible Study Curriculum

We are part of a local Awana group. I consider that their Bible study "curriculum". (I don't have time to do additional lessons with each them every single day!) I like that it is age-appropriate, gets harder as they get older, and as they go along the child can choose to accelerate and get rewards for different milestones. Plus it's in a group setting, so they are learning with peers and getting socialization too. It's sort of like a youth group for preschool and elementary age kids. You can learn more at www.awana.org/awana-clubs
