Does anyone have one of her new pad fold sizes to test? I have been wondering about those

I think these would be fantastic for your eight week old. The smalls would be even better but would not last as long.
My 6 month old is 17 lbs now and the mediums still fit her well. Yes, they are the 23" (approximately, some are 24") mediums she has listed now.

I don't have any padfold size to test. Jenny's site says that padfolds absorb less than mediums but I don't know how much less.

Absorbency of various bamboo, hemp, & Microfiber inserts

Nicki's Diapers white large flat-9 oz
I checked two of these to make sure.

Nicki's Diapers bamboo soaker-9 oz
It may become more absorbent over time. I have only washed it a few times.

GMD half flat-6 oz

Lalabye Baby OS insert-6 oz
Newborn insert-a little more than 4 oz

Diaper Rite large unbleached flat-11 oz
*note-I have bleached these and turned them into kitchen towels over a year ago. They have seen some abuse.

Re: Absorbency of various bamboo, hemp, & Microfiber inserts

I finally tested some of mine! I'm not sure why I got lower numbers than others; maybe it's something about the way I tested. Buy I figure they're at least internally consistent.

GMD large cotton flat: 11oz
Nicki's large bamboo flat: 11oz
Nicki's medium bamboo prefold: 10 oz
Nicki's small cotton prefold: 9 oz

BG OS snap-down insert: 7 oz
BG Newborn insert: 4oz

Geffen quick absorber: 3 oz
Geffen super absorber: 4 oz
Geffen super plus: 6 oz

Thirsties Duo insert size 1: 7oz (both MF and hemp snapped together)
Thirsties duo size 2: 9oz

Using similar methods as PPs, here's what I tested and the results:

Mainstays FST: 8 oz

FLIP organic cotton flat (overnight?): 12 oz

Econobum prefold: 14 oz

It could be your water as well. If you have harder water it may not absorb as well. Also when I was testing originally I was trying several of each time. One of the MF inserts I tested (that hadn't been used in a while) absorbed an OZ or so less and I noticed a slight stink too -- so I discovered it had buildup and washed it right away -- so that could be another issue as well.

this is amazing - i mean, to read the absorbency charts. i always thought my Babykicks Hemp inserts were the most absorbent of anything i had (and they are, according to these numbers)!
