I use Charlies soap with no problems. I will tell you to make sure not to wash them on hot. I wasn't paying attention one day and accidently threw all my colors in and did a sanitizing cycle. They faded a bit. There were clean though. I've always air dried them.

1. Does she need to prewash? I always do a wash on stuff before I use it

2. What is a good wash/dry routine? I've been washing mine on Hot and they have faded!!!!! So I would say warm wash with extra rinse

3. What detergant? A use tide free

4. Any tips for using them on a 4 week old? I heard stuffing them with washclothes works for inserts till they get big enough for the cottonbabies inserts.

BG! are always supposed to be washed on warm, and line dried. I have seen some of the BG! Colors that were washed on hot, and lost all their color except for on the stretchy wings. But, the good news is that they kool aid dye really well.

My setting on my washer is hot/cold, and thats what I wash them in I have had 1 blue one (NEW) and a couple white (used) and have had the blue for about a month now and no fading But I never put them in the dryer, I put my fb and bg to hang dry.

A good tip also for using the smaller snap setting, and this is from Jenn, is when you stuff it with the insert, only stuff it to the top of the Aplix strip, not the top of the diaper. That way you don't end up with the top of the diaper super bulky and you have less wicking if DC's tummy sleeping.
