Diaper Swappers

A few weeks ago on Diaperswappers a Mama was desperately searching for a replacement "lovey" for her DS ... and thanks to all of us here I think she found 3 or 4 replacements. EVer since then I've been thinking about what would happen if we lost "Baby." So today I thought, why not start a thread where we all post pictures of the "loveys," and give each other a chance to duplicate?

If you see Baby in a second-hand store or at a sale (I can't imagine finding her new), please buy her, and I will reimburse you!

Let's see more "loveys" and find out how many duplicates we can dig up -- act now -- avert disaster BEFORE it happens!

great idea!! my babies lovey is a red/white spotted ball and a doll i got her from the dollar store that she named "peekaboo" a few mths back

I'm always on the lookout for more "blanks" for my daughter. They are the Luxe Baby blanket from BRU, color makes NO difference, all she cares about is the tag. The tag says "Koala Baby" which is the BRU brand. They are minkee with a satin edge.

If you have one you arent using we could sure find a good home for it here!

Oooh, great idea! My DD loves her "Piggy", he's called a Barefoot Dreams Cozychic pocket buddy (because he came in a pocket on a little blanket) and they go for $25 (!!!) new. It was a baby shower gift and just ended up being her lovey so if it gets lost it will be a sad day! If anyone has one they're not using and would be willing to part with it for less than $25ppd, I'll take it!

Holy Cow, I hadn't even thought about this, but we LOVE our "Duck-Duck" He is Bright Starts and I just went online to try and find one as a backup and there isn't even a link for him

Anyone, if you have a Waddles the Duck Plush Bright Starts lovey that sings "Singing in the Rain", I will SOO buy him off you! Will take a pic in a second and update post...

ETA, here he is... if you got one, We'll give him a GREAT home!!!

This is a great idea, I wish I had some of those to help you all.

This is foxy, or "dogggggiiiiieeee" as Tharen calls him.

He is a Jelly Baby made by Toy's One Inc. You can order them online, but they only accept personal check and charge a rediculous amount ot ship. We did order an extra, but he met with an untimely fate (the cat ruptured the water bladder in his tummy and he isnt' the same anymore). They take forever to get here and I am always worried that we will lose foxy and be in real trouble. Unfortunately the toy store we originally bought him from doesn't carry him any more.

just a small comment - while I LOVE that piggy, I dont know if a child would really accept a 'new' replacement.

I still remember throwing up on my bear Michael when I was sick as a child. My mother washed it and I remember crying for DAYS about how he smelled different and had lost his soft spots. I certainly wouldnt have taken a new one.

DH's neice had the same experience- she bought 2 giraffes for her son after he got attached to #1 but by then, 'Raffe" was a little worn/loved and her son refuses the substitutes even just for washing day.

I have 2 identical taggies and I switch them out weekly to keep the wear identical and the smell similar

and just for a funny story... my bear Michael was my mothers, and then my aunt's then mine. You can imagine what he looked like - see through, 1/2 stuffed, etc. He was this fairly ugly red bear - you know the sort- cheap looking to start w/then add 30 years. We looked for a 2nd one for years to be a parts donor for mine. 2 years ago, we ent to NC to visit family w/5w old dd and went to a HUGE antique fair... I walked by a display and saw HIM. The duplicate to my Michael only in much better shape. (this one has stuffing). even though it was ratty looking and looks weird amongst dd's nice bears, I bought it. Next time my mom comes up, she'll bring the original

has anyone seen the comercial where the mom is washing the car with a bear, runs it over a few times, goes too work with the markers then picks up her dd from school? dd gets in the car all exicited "you found teddy!!" i'm sure some one here will be going through that soon
