Re: Anybody tried this for heartburn?
Last time I had to take protonix everyday after about 27 weeks because it was so bad. I ate tums till they made me puke, then she had me take pepcid or some other OTC one and it was just making it worse. I would eat three bites of dinner and wait an hour and eat three more and I was still crying at night because I couldn't sleep even propped up on my right side because it hurt so bad. I'm not that bad yet this time but I'm only 17 weeks so we'll see. I don't really think this icecream thing is permanent, just a fun alternative

Re: Anybody tried this for heartburn?
I would eat ice cream every night with both DS's. It does help. This time I don't really crave it. I also ate papaya extract tablets when the thought of Tums made me wanna vomit. They help too.
![]() If a milkshake helps, go for it! I HATE heartburn.

Re: Anybody tried this for heartburn?
I take zantac 150 every 12 hours (thats rx strength) and took it with my last pregnancy too. Milk helps for a bit. I say if icecream is working, go for it until it doesn't work anymore...you have to have your bit of joy through the pain to keep you going!

Re: Anybody tried this for heartburn?
Some lady at the grocery store told me that if you eat a few spanish (green) olives it works wonderful. I grabbed a jar and ate 3 the other night before I ate supper and did not get ANY heartburn. Woohoo!!!

Re: Anybody tried this for heartburn?
I LOVE baking soda and a little water for heartburn. It will make you burp like a sailor for a few minutes but heartburn is completely gone afterwards.
