I know you can't put microfiber/terry towels next to the skin. What about hemp doublers? Some of my fitteds don't have anything to put over the doubler.

yes, hemp is fine next to the skin.

and i know you shouldn't but micro next to the skin, but i honestly don't know the difference between that and fleece.

can anyone explain to my simple mind?

Fleece is soft like what blankets are made out of. Mircofiber is rougher. I has little strands in it. When I rub mircofiber it cuts my hands. They are what you wipe you car down after you wash it. They should never be put on the skin.

if i use microfiber/terry as a doubler with a PF for nighttime then i add some fleece to to teh top of it so it dosent touch ds's bottom!

huh? I hate sounding dumb, but now I'm more confused than ever. I've never cut my hands on my micro...either diaper inserts or towels from the auto section. Is there a huge spectrum of micro products?

Oh, thanks for trying to help me...I'm just really lost!

Microfiber doesn't really cut your hands, it just kind of catches. It's hard to explain. :-/ But it's like, super super absorbant, so you don't want it next to baby's skin because it'll actually dry them out.

Ah. I get the catching. I've only had that happen noticeably though with new micro before it went through several washes and then it only stuck to the dry skin on my hands. Drives me crazy and I wouldn't put it straight on dd's bum just for that reason.

i haven't had any cuts or problems with the micro next to the bum
we are happy and rash free here without dry skin either
we don't do it overnight but during the day sometimes
