if wheat is suspected as a problem...is wheat the problem or is it gluten?

Re: wheat question

It could be either. Babies can be allergic to wheat in general or to gluten as a whole.

Re: wheat question

it's not fun is it? Cutting out wheat alone from my diet didn't work, but the cutting gluten too also didn't do the trick. I have been on the same 6 food diet for the last 1.5 months and finally yesterday I felt we were at the point I could introduce a new food. I'll tell you an apple never tasted so good! I'm just hoping my babe likes it as well.
I know how difficult this can be!

Re: wheat question

I hear ya.. I had to do a TED for my daughter and she reacts to many many foods -- eating is a thing of the past.

If you try oats to test the gluten thing, buy Irish oats. US ones are cross-contaminated with wheat.

Re: wheat question

I've heard that gluten is usually more of a problem. I would start with that. But basically you wont be eating any wheat anyways as they go together a lot of the time. GL

I agree...and usually if you can't do wheat, you can't do spelt, barley or rye.
