Swim Diapers
Ok I have tried pul cover and a pocket and I am not impressed. I was unhappy with how both of these held water and hung off of dd. And I don't think either would have held a poopy mess in very well.
So my question is do "swim diapers" really preform better. I would really want ones with side snaps or some kind of opening. What are some good ones and are the more pricey ones really worth it? I would need some fast too we are going on vacation in a couple weeks. thanks -Pam |

Re: Swim Diapers
I have some in my store that I use & I am really happy with them. I tried to do the pocket dipe thing but it kept moving and just not working out for us. I got a size bigger so there was more room/ease for pulling off and on & figured that it will last longer too. No side openings but I'm sure that's something that maybe could be added? I dunno... maybe someone else will have a better option. OBTW mine are on sale

Re: Swim Diapers
We've been using Imse Vimse. They have snaps on one side that helps make putting them on/taking off easier. But when she pooped in it I sure was wishing both sides had snaps.

Re: Swim Diapers
this is probably not really what you were looking for, but we have been using a BSWW and it doesn't hold too much water (meaning a puddle of water inside that must be dumped when he gets out of the water) -- and it doesn't soak up ANYTHING, really, and you can't wring any water out of it when done.
DS has been swimming since 6 months old (he's 15 months now) and we've had three swim dipes - I like this one the best.

Re: Swim Diapers
My favorites are imse vimse (snaps on one side) and kushies (velcro with a tie). They both work really well!

Re: Swim Diapers
Imse Vimse are my vote again. They are snug fitting and work really well but have that snap on the side so you can get them off when wet. I know that they hold poop by experience and so well that we didn't know until we were done swimming. Cute colors, trim speedo-type fit, what is not to like!

Re: Swim Diapers
I've heard great things about Imse Vimse too, and I've seen them on Polka Dots website and read up on them. Swim diapers are not supposed to be absorbant, not even the sposie ones. That is why the pockets are getting saggy. They are just supposed to catch poo. When I make them, it is pretty much just a tight fitting cover. When on the way to and from the pool, you strap an absorbant (say pocket) over the swim diaper so you don't have to worry about leaks and take it off before play time.

Re: Swim Diapers
I just used the iPlay swim dipes available at Target. They have cute prints and are easily available.
