Baking soda users- do you just splash some on? Right out of the box?

Melaleuca, Jason, Tom's, Avalon organics, and even that crystal thing.... I kept using these because I wanted all natural once I got pg with dc#1. About 18 months ago I ran across an organic product line called miessence organics that are made in Australia. They actually have the world's first certified organic skin care range but also have shampoos, cosmetics, and of course, deodorant I use the Tahitian breeze and love it! No more stink - even after working out...I'm truly amazed. I actually liked the products so much that I signed up as a rep because I knew I'd go broke within a few months from ordering everything I wanted.

Here's a link about the deodorant if you're interested:

Thanks for sharing!! I'm totally looking into that.

Re: Natural deodorant that actually works, anyone?

I had used Adidas and it worked well for me for a long time. (I've been using natural deodorant for 5 yrs now... After my 3rd baby was born in May, though, I had such bad odor (probably from hormones and the heat!) that I ended up switching about a month ago to regular antipersperant again (which I vowed to never do). So...there must be something to the hormones after childbirth that make odor worse? Anyway...Adidas worked fine normall for me.

There are tons of mainstream companies that do not test on animals. go to peta.org and you can find a huge list of them all.

Have you thought of trying essential oils?

Here's two recipies to try. This works for up to two days.

blend one:
3 drops tolu balsam and 2 drops lavender.

blend two:
3 drops tolu balsam and 2 drops petitgrain.

How to apply:

First apply jojoba oil. Select one of the blends and use the entire blend on each underarm. wipe off excess oil with tissue(or cloth) You can dab on some cornstarch to dry any remaining oil. Wait at least 30 min after shaving before applying.

FYI, that's been completely debunked. Other studies tried to repeat the results without success so they took a second look at that study and found out the equipment was contaminated. Aluminum has never been linked to Alzheimer's in any other study.

For the OP: My dad swears by the crystal. Also, I had a bad reaction to Tom's of Maine because it contained lichens. My arm pits were red, hot and OUCHY!

I know that heavy metals DO accumulate in the brain, esp mercury & aluminum.

anyway, I've heard a lot of success stories about the funk butter which is mainly baking soda, I think.

Oops, I should have phrased my reply better since I was speaking specifically about the link between aluminum and Alzheimer's. My grandmother spent most of my life dying of the disease so I've been very interested in Alzheimer's research.
