Re: My baby's 1st night away....sad/happy/sad...

No option for me. My oldest was over 2 years old (but under 15 ) when she spent the night with her best friend (and the mom was my best friend.) The mom slept in the same room with the girls so I knew she was in good hands.

My next child was 4 years old when she spent the night away from us. She is turning 5 tomorrow and has only spent the night somewhere twice.

My 2.5 year old has never spent the night anywhere other than with us, same as my 13 months old.

Re: My baby's 1st night away....sad/happy/sad...

My son is 14 months old, and has not spent the night away from me yet. I didn't vote because he's far from 15, lol. That said, there have been one or two occasions where there was an emergency and I had to leave the house and leave it to someone else to put him to bed. He puts up more of a fight when I try to put him to bed than when my boyfriend or best friend does it. Sigh!

I will say that I started watching my friend's daughter when she was around 21 months old, and she had never spent the night away from home before. She did just fine. The first night or two, she was afraid to be in an unfamiliar place, so I would sleep in the bed with her (co-sleeping before I know what co-sleeping was, lol!).

Your little girl will be just fine! Don't feel guilty. If there is a serious issue, I'm sure someone will call you!

DD was actually a little over 2 the first night she spent away from me. DS was MUCH younger but I really needed the break. LOL DS has spent a couple of nights away at this point...either with my DH or with my babysitter (she has kept him for one night total I think it was when DH and I went out of town for an adults only wedding).

Miranda was a couple weeks old.. she stayed with my mom for about 4 days.

PPD.. Enough said. 4 days wasn't long enough at that point.

since then she's stayed with my mom (and only my mom) a couple times.
