Re: Best pacifier for newborns?

Gerber gentle flex is what we gave DD, she hardly used a paci though. They have them in silicone now, and I found ours at Target. I think I saw them at BRU also.

Our son likes and will only use a wubba nub. Wont even take a soothie because it doesnt have the dog or animal attached. Our 14 week DD wont take anything except mommy...

DD hates pacis, but likes to chew on the opposite end of the Soothie. OCCASIONALLY, she will put the right end in her mouth, but she spits it out if anyone sees her with it in there. She's more interested in eating carpet fuzz right now...*le sigh...

wow I was sure I replied... but now I don't see it.

my girls will only take mam's. We tried everything, didn't like the soothie because it always pops out! you can get them at mambaby.com and they have several international sites too!

Re: Best pacifier for newborns?

My DD would only take NUK. I however found these, and always prefered them to the ones with handles. I had to puchase them from Germany, but they are offered in the US now.

Re: Best pacifier for newborns?

We started out with MAM. The newborn ones have such a perfect sized nipple for a newborn, well I thought at least, lol. It was going ok, but my dd was only home from the hospital for 5 days before being readmitted. We had to take her to ER and I only had on paci with me. The hospital supplied NUK pacis. So we used those since there was a clean one at our disposal at all times. She was in for another week, and by the time we left, she was hooked and uses NUK to this day.

The ones like this with the yellow rubber are fairly easy to find, but my kids never liked them. They always preferred these, which are technically the newborn size. My son had the same two pacifiers for two years because I couldn't find them after I bought the first pack. When the midwife saw my youngest with her's she said they were the best ones.

These are the ones my DD used and loved. I made the big mistake of not having enough on hand. Then I had the hardest time finding them and DD refused to take any other kind.

so, the lesson here is no matter what kind you choose, make sure you get tons of them to have just in case you have a hard time finding them later.

Re: Best pacifier for newborns?

I'm no help...I bought every single paci I could get my hands on and NOTHING stayed in longer than 2minutes.
So, I'm keeping them for the next babe....hope she/he comes along soon!

Re: Best pacifier for newborns?

Kearnan would only use the silicone NUK in the 6-24 month size, from birth on. Tharen didnt' take to a paci till he was closer to three months old and his has to be a playtex that they don't make anymore (it's similar to the nuk and for him it has to be latex, but he won't accept the nuk). He will kind of take the newer playtex orthopro, but he doesn't like it as well. I wish he would have taken to the soothies, I like them better.
