I'm a wool idiot!!!!

I got a beautiful wool wrap on here from another mama, and washed it in the machine in HOT water & put it in the dryer (it got stuck to a Kushie AIO) It came out looking fine, so I figured I had gotten lucky and went ahead and lanolized it (at least I think I did, I melted some lanolin in hot water then soaked the wrap in it until all the "yellow" was out). Well, yesterday when I was out and DD blew out her berryplush, I grabbed for it and it was too small!!!!! So now I guess it is a small instead of a medium. Someone pleae give me step-by-step, wool-idiot proof instructions for care of wool fluff. Is there any way I can fix this wrap or is it permantely a small now??? TIA

Re: I'm a wool idiot!!!!

dh did this to one of our wool wraps
it went from a size large to about a size small, or a very small medium.

from the looks of it, it wont go back to its original size.

Re: I'm a wool idiot!!!!

You need to wash in lukewarm water with either wool wash or baby shampoo. You let it soak for about 10 minutes, gently swishing it, so as to not get rid of too much lanolin. Gently squueze out excess water and roll in a towel. I like to let mine dry outside out of direct sun (don't want the colors to fade) then I gently pat on a pea-sized amt of lanolin balm that I purchased from ITS.

Once the wool goes in the dryer, It becomes felted and I don't think there's anything you can do to make it bigger. Sorry!

I don't know if would do any good now, since it is felted, but I've heard that soaking the soaker in hair conditioner and gently stretching out the wool can help stretch it out to make it larger. I've tried it and it didn't help me out too much, but I've heard others swear by it.
