Re: Silicone or latex pacifiers?
Silicone is less of a choking hazard. In fact a LOT of manufacturers are no longer making latex. PLUS there's NO way of knowing when your child is small if they have an allergy to latex.

Re: Silicone or latex pacifiers?
Both my kids preferred the Nuk silicone ones. While pregnant I bought a pack of a few different kinds and let them choose. Whichever one they got the hang of faster was the one we stuck to. I prefer the silicone over latex just because i like the looks of it better.

Re: Silicone or latex pacifiers?
We weren't big pacifier users here. BUT I wouldn't use latex b/c latex allergy is something that is caused by exposure. You have a certain amount of latex you can be exposed to and once you meet that exposure limit you wind up with an allergy. That's what happened to me, and my allergist said they see it a lot in kids who spend a lot of time in hospitals and are constantly having IVs and needle sticks because of all the latex.

Re: Silicone or latex pacifiers?
We didn't have a choice, we cannot have any Latex in our home. My DD2 was born with Spina Bifada and cannot be around it. Allergy reasons.
