How long to Target (or the like) microfiber towels last?

I read a post on here awhile ago about m/f towels losing absorbency over time. I use the Vroom ones from Target to wrap my hemp inserts in. I've been using them for about 4 months now. They are not as fluffy as they used to be but that's all I can tell for now. He's had some leaking during naps, but he's started sleeping on his belly now too, so I'm sure that's it. However, how often do you usually replace yours? He's about to move into large diapers, so I'm thinking that maybe w/ each size change I'll get new towels and make the old ones cleaning rags or something?

I've been using the same ones for almost a year now, with no problems...mine seem okay...I never heard that before...

I have the yellow ones from costco - they are 10 months old now & still work well.

Are they still working well but just not as soft and fluffy as they were whenthey were newer? Mine seem to work okay but they seem "thinner" and not as fluffy. I figure if they are still working then its cool.
