Re: Anyone else have stink issues w/synthetics only?

I recently heard about about charlie's soap www.charliesoap.com

My SIL bought some, and she doesn't have any stink problems anymore. I have a front loader too, and have serious stink problems!!! I have just ordered a gallon ($20), and I can't wait to try it. It's supposed to be good for HE/front loader's too!

Re: Anyone else have stink issues w/synthetics only?

I've used the sanitary a few times, but if I use it on it's own (rinse/spin & then sanitary) they come out stinky (at least the pockets do). You know it's bad if that doesn't take care of it If I use sanity after a regular kids wash sometimes it takes care of the stink, but this last time it didn't. I think on my washer it said the heavy duty & kids wear cycles use the most water, those two seem to work better than the other cycles.

Shoot, I just ordered allen's today, is charlies better? I have so many bottles of laundry detergent right now (2 bottles sensiclean, biokleen, planet powder, tide he, sears liquid he & one other I can't remember the name of)

Re: Anyone else have stink issues w/synthetics only?

Oh no! You too??!! We need a support group for front loader users

If you can't figure it out from the manual, call the manufacturer to find out which cycle has the highest water level (mine didn't say, but the quick start guide mentioned it), that helped me a little bit.

I did a load last night w/out the wetbag included & it is better, but pockets still were not "fresh". I think with the pul the water gets trapped & doesn't flow thru like it does on the fitteds & prefolds so the fleece doesn't get cleaned cause the water isn't flowing thru it. Micro, I remember when I first started, seems to get buildup really easily. Pockets are just a double whammy w/a front loader. Maybe I will put away the micro for a while & try it w/hemp & prefolds as inserts to see if that helps too.

The soap nuts do sound interesting! I'll add them to the list of things to try.

Thanks Kathy & everyone for your suggestions, I have a few more things to try before giving up!!! I really needed some fresh encouragement cause I am so fed up with washing diapers all day long without the "fresh fluffy" smell at the end as payoff!!

Re: Anyone else have stink issues w/synthetics only?

has anyone tryed just using plain cold water... not hot cycles or rinses? I bought soem HE soap today and some white vinegar... I am either going to do dipes tonight or tomorrow... depends on the time I have ( have a 2 hour class tonight)

I dont care if I have to wash dipes everyday to get this figured out! I am determined to get rid of the poo smell

Re: Anyone else have stink issues w/synthetics only?

I have a FLer, and the dipes always stink if I wash them with my Bummis wetbag. I don't have any problem when I wash with my Happie Tushies wetbag. It must be the material???

I considered whether I should get rid of the FLer and get a toploader.
