Question I got what?

While Meg (Ontariomama) was here in NS, she started knitting and crocheting and she gave dd the cutest little "Skoaker" (a soaker/skort) and a little pair of shorties. I loove them! be honest, I've never had an interest in wool until now, so I have no idea how to look after them. I know not to put them in the washer or dryer (is that right?) So, how do I clean them? I put the shorties on Gracie for bed last night, and now they have "overnight diaper stink" I don't want to ruin them.

Re: I got what?

You need to lanolize them. Get some lanolin (you can find wool wash at different WAHM stores, too). I use solid lanolin and boil it until it's liquid (1tsp lanolin to quite a bit of water), then mix in some baby shampoo.
Hand wash in the sink. Be sure the water isnt too warm or you'll shrink the wool. Then lay it out on a towel and roll it up to get the excess water out, then hang dry.
