do you wash your BGs separate from the inserts?

I was reading on a small CD board I'm on about washing in hot vs warm. I didn't realize that Cottonbabies suggests washing the diaper itself on warm and the inserts on hot. I guess it makes the outer material last longer. I've been using my BGs for about four months now and washing them all together on hot. Ihope I didn't screw them up. I don't want to do two washloads though - that's alot more water and we're paying for that now! argh

I don't but our setting on our wash is hot/cold, warm/cold, or cold/cold...So I just wash on the hot/cold, than do cold/cold rinses afterwards...and it works for us, the blue is still blue and its a couple months old

I don't wash mine separtly. I was my BG's in hot, personally it is gross to me not to use hot water, I feel they are sanitized in hot water.

Re: do you wash your BGs separate from the inserts?

I like the idea of hot too - I just want to make sure that they last. I want to use these for a 2nd baby too. I do the cold prewash, and then the hotwash/cold rinse. So far so good - I hope its okay! I guess the company will always give you the advice to make it last longer. They say to line dry, whcih I do. I emailed them and they said you can dry them in the dryer but the elastic might not last as long. So its not that you can't dry them, its just better not to, KWIM?

i've been using mine for 2 months and i wash on hot/cold. i haven't noticed any difference in the color of the outer, but i have noticed that the aplix and the inner suedecloth seems scraggly. (i think i made that word up! ) i don't dry them though, i line dry.

No. I wash them all on hot. But I do it knowing that my colored ones will not stay colored
I tried washing on warm but my diapers still smelled dirty

I wash my bG' with everything else. I don't feel that they're clean unless I wash on HOT. I do dry them in the line though, not in the dryer
