Re: Natural way to treat possible staff infection??`Please help!

I double what the other posters said about not messing around. It can get serious and you can die from a staph infection. Sounds like you are treating it with the meds from the doc. Keep us posted and let us know how the appt with the ped. goes. They thought my dd had a staph infection earlier this year, as it turned out, it was chicken pox!

I'm glad that you are using the medicine from the dr. Staph is a scary thing.

I had a staph infection in my knee, and it caused the screws that were in my knee holding my kneecap in place to fall out of the bone. I also had 3 surgeries on my knee, and had to have IV antibiotics 3 times a day for a month to get rid of it.

The doctor said it is definitely staph, but her system is fighting it very well. He said to use the BactraBan(sp?) for a few more days and it should go away since its not too bad. If it doesn't go away or gets worse, he gave me some Keflex (again sp?) for her to take twice a day. Hopefully, that won't be necessary!

My daughter had MRSA when she was 6 months old that had to be lanced open. It was the most heartbreaking thing to watch, they strapped her in this board thing and she couldn't move at all, the boil was so hard they couldn't numb it properly and the look in her eyes was too much. I cried so hard for her and she cried so much that she promptly fell asleep as soon as I was able to grab her up and nurse her. I wouldn't recommend messing with it at all but I'm glad to hear that you are treating it properly.

*Hugs* DS has a possible staph infection in his foreskin and we're using the bactaban stuff, too. I'm all for natural, but on a part of the body that sensitive, and with it possibly being staph, I'm not messing around. Hope your DD gets better!

Glad to hear you're using the medicine!! Staph is really dangerous and you can die from it! Not something to fool around with! Hope all is well soon!
