Won't stop crying

What more can I do? I noticed this morning that DD has a molar part-way in, so this could be the cause of her anguish. But our usually happy baby just won't quit crying today. You have to be within a few feet of her at all times. And she's been throwing tantrums non-stop for 2 hours now. She took a 2.5 hr nap so lack of sleep isn't the problem. She's eaten. She's just unhappy. And when I try to comfort her, she pushes me away and slides off of my lap...then continues to cry and throw a tantrum. I've tried Cammomile Calm but that didn't work, so I did give her some ibuprofen in case she's in pain. Still crying and having a fit.

Any thoughts? She's not crying incessantly. Just VERY frequently... she seems very frustrated, though I'm not sure why.

All I know is that she's bringing me to my wit's end... I'm starting to reconsider quitting my job this fall to stay home with her...

do you have a carrier you could wear and throw her on your back? That might be the best option for peace.

Re: Won't stop crying

It could definitely be the molar- my son had such a problem with them. They seemed to make his ears hurt and frusrate him-- I don't like giving meds but I'd probably try some Motrin.

Poor babe and poor mama. Forget the wives tale of whiskey on the gums, some days I think it was really for the moms.

Re: Won't stop crying

Thanks for the hugs. We have MANY carriers, but the only way she tolerates being in them is if we're constantly moving... and to be honest, I'm exhausted today. Guess I'm a lazy mom, too, because all I wanted was to be able to sit for a little bit. She's eating an early dinner now and seems happier, but tired. I think I'll put her down early for bed.

I agree on the whiskey... if I wasn't in the middle of a 2WW to find out if I am pg, I would be all over a nice cold beer right now! LOL!

Re: Won't stop crying

For teething, I like to give my son (10.5 months) an ice cube wrapped in a clena washcloth. He can suck and gnaw on the ice cube and it seems to help him, calm him down and numb his teeth.

Hugs, mama.
