Why have the ads then if they don't make you any money? Everyone hates them, how many moms really click the linky to these, probably not very many.

So tell us, since it's so important to stand up for the ads to ban people, why keep them if they don't make you any money?

Is it for the good of the moms, who HATE them?

It's okay to post a thread showing off your work for others to say how horrible it is and yet... one member questions you and BAM, they are banned? I just don't understand!
This isn't the first issues the admin team has had with this mama.

It's been stated many times but I will reiterate, DS requires a MONSTROUS server to run it, that costs money. DS requires people to keep it running(those techies that take care of site crashes, upgrades, etc....) They don't work for free, would you?? When you have a site with THOUSANDS of active members it takes money to run it, that money has to come from somewhere they are trying to keep the site FREE to come to. Seriously, would you go to a pot luck dinner and eat for FREE then complain about everything there? IMO that is what this seems like here.

There is a post at the top of this forum with instructions on what to do in the event of a problem. I made a new updated one last night, but there has been one just like it for over 6 months that tells you who to PM in the case of a problem. Most of the posts in this forum are just to try and stir up Drama(and I'm not referring to all posts in this forum but a lot of them are)

I have to pop in and agree that it seems harsh to ban someone for disagreeing with you. Especially since I have read other posts like hers before - other mamas that are upset and accuse you - that's just part of being the "boss", isn't it? It's kinda unnerving that you'd be able to ban someone just for getting upset at you and making a negative comment...maybe you could have at least tried to resolve things via pms?

Along with that post, she was openly bashing DS in her signature. I removed the signature myself, there is a lot that goes on that the members don't see, this wasn't just banning the mama bc she disagreed on one occasion

From our POV though, you have to admit, it really did look that way.

I didn't realize there was a post on how to report problems, I personally always look for posts in this forum first. *shrug*

Re: Getting directed to a "spam killer" site?

There are numerous ways to avoid the ads on the site. Many suggestions have been given time, and time, and time, and time, and time again.

As I've stated before, this site allows many the opportunity to buy, trade, and sell their items. As with any site and any project, problems are bound to occur. We work long hours on the site and pride ourselves in providing a community for WAHM and Cloth Diapering families to meet and interact. We also provide the opportunity to make money.

With that said, no one is trying to run this like a dictatorship - and is not a democracy either. The administrators and mods have a responsibility to the site owner AND to the members. But, in the event that a member flies off the handle (not just once, but numerous times) and breaks rules on the board, then they have to go. If they are not willing to at least respect those who are providing them a service - and for free - then there is no need for them to be here. Sounds harsh? Yeah, you ought to read some of the PMs and Emails I get.

So, let's keep this civil and orderly. If you see inappropriate ads, tell us. We'll hunt them down and get rid of them. If you are concerned for the possibility of getting a virus on your computer, don't surf the web. Just know that we are not intentionally infecting your stuff!

he did not say that they don't make him any money, but he did say that they don't make him a TON of money. That is a big difference. He is not running this out of the goodness of his heart. He has a family too.

As for the person banned...i will bet that there were PM's and email from her as well as the post and her siggy. he has every right to do what he did.

hmm.. good point. It just seems like there is such an awful lot of trouble with ads and stuff. I know I don't come around unless I need to buy or sell now, not only because of the ads and spyware etc, but because of the way people get treated. It just kinda leaves a bad taste in ones mouth. if you kwim.

I have just gone through and deleted multiple posts in this thread. Let's please leave the attitude offline. Friendliness, Kindness, and respect for one another needs to prevail here.

Re: Getting directed to a "spam killer" site?

Just wanted to say Thanks for running this website! Without this website, I wouldn't have learned anything about CD'ing, plus almost my whole stash has come from the wonderful Momma's on here!!

~Thanks again!~
