Re: Mama needs to gain weight...ideas?

Yes, I love cheese. If I eat too much ds gets a red bum, though. btdt

I think the key for me is just going to be eating more often then I have been. I've got to increase the quantity.

I might keep a food journal this week.

Re: Mama needs to gain weight...ideas?

one of the other posts reminded me what my midwives suggested to me at my 6-week pp visit. they suggested my putting together a snack basket where i usually nurse dd. if you nurse in several places put together several snack baskets. fill them with healthy snacks (fruit, granola, etc.) and make sure to eat a snack every time you feed your dc, or at least as often as you can stomach it. eating more often definitely helps up the calorie intake.

BACON !

I have lost a ton and wasn't sure what to eat since ds is allergic to dairy and soy gives me wicked gas My current fav lunch is a whole grain bagel with tomatoes, cucumber and 4 strips of bacon DEEEELISCIOUS!
How about:
Pasta, potatoes, meat, chicken, fish, sandwich meat, fruit, dried fruit bars, smoothies, icecream, yogurt, granola bars, muffins, perogies.... oh I could go on forever. I'm a good eater and I have no trouble gaining weight!

Re: Mama needs to gain weight...ideas?

posting a bit late, but OMG, i coulda written this post! since i was bf'ing ds3 my milk came in early & i was a pro at "teaching" him how to nurse that we were doing so well that at my 6wk pp visit i weighed less than i did pre preg with him! i find it sooo hard to stop and eat while running around after my 3 boys.

i eat crap and i know it...though i try to munch on strip cheese & veggies and dip as much as possible. we normally eat pasta at least twice a day since it's one of the meals that we ALL agree on.

my friend is pg and nursing a tot and had weight gain issues and something that helped her get calories in was switcing to full fat dairy-if you do dairy this might help---also nuts have alot of good fat and are highly portable
