New Year's Menu
What do you usually make for New Years? I've always hated black-eyed peas, but ever since 2005, which was a bad year for us financially, I cook and eat them. Is there anyway to spruce them up? I made them with a hamhock, bell pepper, onion, and spices and they were better than plain, but I'm still not crazy about them. We ate them with cornbread and collard greens. Anybody got any good recipes or suggestions?

I've never had (or made) black-eyed pees, so I'm no help there.
Here's what I'll be cooking on New Year's Day: Pork and sauerkraut. Thin pork chops, sausage and kielbasi cooked with sauerkraut. We'll also have mashed potatoes, brown and serve rolls and a veggie tray.

I'm doing Ham,cabbage and Black eyed peas and corn bread..I think I'm going to try this recipe for the BEP's..

We had sauted pork loin chops,mashed red potatoes(w/ skins left on),blackeyed peas w/ snaps(
Bush's-from the can),seasoned Glory BRAND canned collard greens,wheat rolls w/ butter and the 7 layer green salad.It's the salad w/ tiny green peas,shreded lettuce,green onoin,mayo,cheddar cheese,roma tomato and bacon crumbles-all layered in a glass bowl.Very yummy.

on new years eve we ate blackeyed peas and corn bread - neither one of us like beans, lol, and today we had corned beef and cabbage, potatoes and carrots
