Question Wet bag question

Hi! I haven't posted on this new site. Shame on me.

Okay so I HATE the system I have now for storing dirty dipes. What I'm using right now is a cloth (cotton I believe) laundry bag sitting inside a short round laundry basket. I just dump the dipes into the wash and the cloth bag as well. That part is working for me. But the smell is not. I wash every couple days. I have a 28 month old and a 4 month old in diapers.
Its easiest to keep them downstairs under the stairs by the back door but its also in the kitchen and who wants stinky in the kitchen?

So I'm looking for ideas. Do you have a wet bag that you love? One that holds 2 days worth of diapers for 2 kids?

Thanks!

Re: Wet bag question

I don't have a wetbag, just a trash can with a lid...

I use regular laundry bags and have 4. I have 2 13 gallon trashcans, one in our room and one in the girls' room. THe lid keeps smells at bay. I do everything else the same!

Re: Wet bag question

I use the XL Bummis wetbag from CottonBabies and I LOVE it. I've got it in the diaper pail that they sell but it would do just as well in a trash can of equal size. I never have a smell problem and I only have to wash the wet bag every two weeks or so unless it gets poop on it.

Re: Wet bag question

I use a pail liner like Wahmmies and Bummies. I like elastic and the pul is reversed so no wicking. I also use a lid.

PUL is best for stink/wetness. You can get a zippered one with a handle and hang it on a hanger in the closet or on the changing table too.

Depends on what you like and if you have a pail already.

I've made all sorts of them but mostly zippered/handle ones.

Also, get one with a piece of microfiber and hemp on the inside (sewn into the seam). Then buy some TTO from the vitamin isle (tea tree oil) at Walmart for $5 or less and dab a little on that pad and it will keep the stink in. I've been using hemp on the ones I make.

OR just get a washcloth/piece of scrap fabric and dab a little on that.

You can get EO's online like Lavender, Orange, Eucalyptus etc and those are great smelling too!

Thanks ladies.

A friend of mine from here actually emailed me and told me about her. I'm sending her an email now.

Thanks again.
