Re: someone please......tell me

The only possible way to get a false positive is if you were taking HCG injections, like for infertility. Otherwise, the only reason you'd ever have that hormone in your system is if you're pg.

I agree with the other mamas, false positives are very rare.

I have been pregnant 5 times now and never seen a false positive or an evaporation line.

I've seen evap lines and have actually mistaken a few for being pregnant. I've also seen the lighter pinks that would be confusing to figure out and I was actually pregnant.

And I agree with the others... false positives are extremely rare. Go get a blood test to confirm! Hope it works out to what you want!

Re: someone please......tell me

When I found out I was pregnant from a postitive home pregnancy test I took another one to be sure. The doctor laughed at me when I told her. She said you can NEVER have a false positive. The test is measuring HCG which is ONLY present in your body when you are pregnant.

Unless you are looking at a test that had been sitting a while and developed evaporation lines, I believe congratulations are in order!

Well, technically, there is a VERY, VERY RARE form of cancer/tumor which might be causing your body to produce HCG when you are not pregnant....but the odds are very strongly in favor of you being preggo!

uummm..from the sound of your post, it sounds like "congratulations" might not be what you want to hear?

Best wishes!

Speaking as the former director of a crisis pregnancy center and therefor someone who has administered hundreds of pregnancy tests...I've never seen a false positive. A line, is a line, is a line no matter how light or dark. (assuming it shows up in the correct time slot and is the correct color)

Congrats?

Re: someone please......tell me

I have been there. Found out I was preggo again when my second DD was 6 mo, I was definately not ready and not really excited for a while. But I figured God had a plan and knew what he was doing. MY suprise is due in 1 mo. Good luck mamma, it is an adjustment when it wasn't what you had planned but I am sure it will work out.
