I look at it this way. I love my dh more than I thought I could ever love another person and when my 1st came along, I never even thought about the fact that I might not be able to love the baby as much as I love dh. Granted, it is a different type of love, but the amount is the same. When dd came we were worried that since ds had been an "only" for so long that he would feel resentment, and how could we possibly love dd as much? Well, we do and ds ADORES his sister. He told me once that she is his reason for living, that she is what makes his day every day. I love that and I can't imagine my life without her either. Now we are adding another and I know both of them will feel the same way about this one.

Re: questions for moms expecting #2 (or more) major anxiety about sharing the love!

to you, mama! I went through this with #2 as well. I cried throughout several weeks of that pregnancy with the worry that I was going to "rob" my DD of attention & love once the new baby came along. For those first few weeks after #2 came along, it greatly helped to have DH shower extra attention on our DD. After that I was able to more evenly divide my time. She loved to snuggle up next to the baby and I for book reading while I nursed. Their sibling bond is so strong now. As far as loving one any less than the other...I just haven't found that to be the case at all. There's enough love in a mama's heart to go around and around and around....
