Casserole with rice question

I'm making this Verde Enchilada Casserole off the Campbell's soup can and decided to add rice to make it more of a meal. Well the original cooking time was 1/2 hour at 350. What should I increase the time to in order to get the rice cooked??

It depends on what type of rice you are using. For instant rice, it should be fine. For longer cooking rice, you may need to increase the cooking time and possibly add a bit more liquid.

Personally, I would just cook the rice first then add it to the rest and keep the cooking time the same if it were non-instant rice.

I don't use instant rice so I cook mine ahead of time. We make large batches in the rice cooker and store it in the fridge so it can be added to casseroles.

Thanks for the replies.

It was regular rice. Increased the cooking time and the water and soup. It ended up taking over an hour for the rice to get done. My DH says I ruined it by adding the rice, but he was just in a bad mood. It stretched a lot further with the rice.
