Re: Another PF ?

I use snappies w/ my DD but w/ my DS (hes a toddler) it leaves red marks on him its too small. And my 2 year old is awesome he would lay still for 10 minutes sometime until i figured out how to pin. Now I am a pro!! I think they are coming out w/ a toddler snappi though and we will give that a try

Wow, I envy you for having a DS that lays still while changing his dipes! Mine is a nightmare, I need to chase him, so I know pinning is out of question for me right now with him. If I'm lucky I get a snappi to work with him LOL

I used to be afraid of pins, too - but it turns out I'm completey snappi-challenged. I can't get a decent fit with a snappi to save my life! And I used to avoid using PFs because of the snappi. When I finally got up to courage to try pins, I discovered that they weren't nearly as scary as I thought (I've never stabbed DD - knock on wood - and only stabbed myself a couple of times) and I can get a nice snug fit with then!

Congrats on mastering the pins, Jen!
DS is such a wiggle worm, I'm afraid I'd never be able to try LOL. I'm lucky if I can get to use snappis on him b4 he wants to walk away from getting changed.

Hmmm I think this is why I gave up on snappis. They seemed to small! My 2 year old is a big toddler and when he was still using diapers I gave up on them fast! Plus the darn thing snagged skin on my finger and made a pretty deep cut that didnt heal for about 2+ weeks. It hurt SOOOO bad. Those teeth on snappi's are dangerous, especially if the operator is snappi impaired !
BUT maybe I will try again with the new baby!

BTW I just fold them into a cover...it's so much easier IMO

I use all methods... pins for night-time or whenever I expect a poop; snappi with some covers, trifolding with other covers!!

Snappis are awesome. I had a thread awhile back about tips and tricks one mommy had the ingenious idea of cutting off the snappi's "third leg". They don't stay attached to the diaper anyway and I'm tired of getting holes in my shirts when I carry dd around. In fact, one time that little b*st*rd third leg came loose and snagged dd's thigh while she was crawling around.
I might do this with our snappis......they work great, except the third "leg" always comes undone.

Re: Another PF ?

i tried snappi's and they make my ds red on his tummy like its too tight then if its not that tight it falls off i just cant get those...and tri folding never worked for me either it seems to shift and get bunched up and oh what a mess when he poops YUCK!! so i'm a pinner myself, i love that snug fit and how clean and smooth it looks

btw: val i love your stash great job mama
