Re: Cradle Cap?

I've read it can also be caused by washing their hair too much--which is easy to do with babies w/lots of hair since it starts looking 'greasy' sooner.

I don't have experience with TREATING cc... but apparently I had bad cc as a newborn... so what did my mother do? Scrubbed the hair clean off! That's right.. I was stinkin' BALD until I was a year old. You can date my baby pictures because I always wore bonnets to cover my bald... how embarrassing...

Re: Cradle Cap?

Both my girls had it. Katie had NO hair and Dakota had TONS. We only bathed once a week also so for us, unrelated to amount of hair or amount of washing.

We used baby oil. Rubbed it on before bed, left it on overnight, brushed with soft brush in the morning, bathed. Worked with both girls and only came back once on Dakota.

Re: Cradle Cap?

My DD had it off and on for a while. Frequency of hair washing didn't make a difference. We were told by a mom in a baby group to use olive oil. She said it had to be cold pressed, so that's what I used (great for salads too, LOL). I put a little blob on as we got in the tub, smeared it around her hair and scrubbed a little. Then at the end of the bath I wash it out with baby shampoo. Worked wonders!
