Does TTO really help a stinky pail?

We use the MOE hanging pail and do laundry daily. But my DD BF poops are pretty stinky lately and as soon as a poopy dipe goes in teh bag, her room starts to smell. Will putting TTO on that sash in the bag really help? Any other suggestions to help with the stinkies?
(I have to buy wool wash so if there is a store to buy that and something to fix the stinkies that would be great)

Re: Does TTO really help a stinky pail?

theres a mama here that makes pail powder (rowyne-i could be spelling that wrong) that i found really helps with the stinkies..you can put it right on a stinky diaper and/or sprinke the bag

i know NE and naturally luxe both stock pail powder but i've never used them.

for us TTO or lavander really helps just add like 5+drops to the little square inside the bag!

TTO definitely helps mine. In fact, once I've put a fresh cloth in the holder in my pail, I can smell TTO in other areas of the house, too (which doesn't bother me because it smells clean to me).

Yep tto on the fabric swatch helps a LOT around here. I was TOTALLY skeptical when I first tried it, but it does GREAT! A very little goes a LONG way we found out. The first pail I used it on, I put a few drops on the swatch and then a few drops on a wipe and laid that on top of the two poops in there... WOW KNOCK ME DOWN how strong it was in the wash load!!!

Re: Does TTO really help a stinky pail?

We made our own "Pail Powder" and it has worked great for us.

To make: Combine 2 cups of baking soda and 1 cup of water. Add several (I use 10-15) drops of TTO. Mix well. Place paper cups in a 12 muffin tin. Add the baking soda mix to the muffin cups. Let dry for 24 hour. Peel the paper cups off the mix. Add the mix to a stoage container. My mix usually crumbles apart and I use a spoon to add some to my bag. If your mix stays in the disk shape, you can just add the disk to your pail.

When you dump your pail into the washer the powder/tto mix is also added. The baking soda acts as a detergent booster and the tto helps to disinfect.

BTW - When you buy TTO, look in the first aid section. You can find it at walmart, etc. The TTO in the first aid section is MUCH cheaper than in the essential oil section. Good luck!

Re: Does TTO really help a stinky pail?

I like your recipe, but I have a silly question - if you put the disk (or powder) in the pail, then put a dipe on top of it, won't that kind-of block the smell/deodorizing capabilities??
