Should I go to the doctor?

I am not really sure what to do. I am 9 weeks pregnant and have had light brownish discharge on and off for the last month. I was back again yesterday and there were a few bits of really dark dried blood too.

I am wondering if this is considered spotting and if I should be concerned about it? I did have an ultrasound at 7 weeks and everything was fine. It still freaks me out a little though, this never happened with my first baby.

Should I be concerned?

Re: Should I go to the doctor?

what did they say about the spotting at 7 weeks??

I would ask for another u/s. one of my pregnancies had a heartbeat adn was looking great until my 12 week checkup. the u/s showed the heart stopped around 10 weeks.

call the doctor

Re: Should I go to the doctor?

I didn't say anything about it. I wasn't really thinking it was spotting since it was not red, just light brown and mucousy. It seemed to get better and then I really noticed it a lot yesterday and then today it doesn't seem too bad again. I had sex a couple days ago, maybe its related?

It could be related to sex. But if I were you, I'd call the doctor and at least mention it to them. Early spotting can be nothing or it can be something. If you're really concerned, ask for another u/s to confirm viability.

Re: Should I go to the doctor?

I would go to the dr, if for nothing more than a peace of mind. I spotted from week 4 until week 7 or 8 i think. Everything was fine but i was nervous. Had ultrasounds every 2 weeks for 1 1/2 months and blood work. Now I am almost 17 weeks and everything still looks good!

Hugs! I know how scary it is.

Re: Should I go to the doctor?

W/dd I started spotting at 7 weeks that was a lot like you're describing, went to the dr, and they saw a subchorionic bleed when they did an ultrasound. It's not dangerous usually, but I had to hold off on sex for quite a while. The spotting continued until 10 weeks. So at the very least, I'd recommend a sex break.

But probably if it were me I'd go to the doc just to be safe...
