Cool Wool washing ??

Will washing wool make it softer? Or can I lanolize it a little more to make it softer?

I have a pair of longies I adore, but they're pretty "scratchy". I had Noah in them yesterday and he was noticeable uncomfortable. I finally changed him and he cheered right up

Is there anything I can do to make them softer?

I was told that you can add a TINY bit of conditioner to your wool when you wash it. When I have a pair thats not quite so "soft" I wash with baby shampoo and a little bit of hair conditioner, then rinse and lanolize as usual. Maybe someone that has known wool a little longer would know.

I've found that lanolizing them or washing them in a lanolin wool wash does make them considerably softer. I was so worried when I bought my crat cuz it seemed so uncomfortable, but then I washed it in Eucluan (sp?) and it softened right up.

I got my Peenut Pants and immediately thought, "Oh, no! These are so itchy!" cause I'm super sensitive to that! But I rewashed/lanolized them and now they're lots softer!

I had this maternity wool sweater from Old Navy that I loved, but it was scratchy! So I lanolized it and it became soft! So yes, lanolizing will make scratchy wool softer

I think if you give them a good shave, then they will soften up after you lanolize them a few times.
