Stuck between CDs and PLing...

Just a couple months ago (if that) I thought I'd prepare to PL Andrew.. so, I sold most of his diapers except a few, and invested in some trainers.. weellll, that didn't fly over so great! I tried with him a few weeks, just to find out he completely wasn't going for it.. so, the past couple weeks I've been trying to build a stash up again and just about happy where we are.. Well, I could tell tonight he was trying to poo, I usually always know.. But a friend had told me today that because I can tell, he might be really easy to PL and when I see him doing his 'thing' I should try putting him on the potty.. Sooo I did and guess what? He totally pooped on his potty!!!! And I praised him (the whole family did!) and he was just gleaming with so much pride of what he did...
Now then.. what do I do? Do I sell his dipes back off to invest in trainers again??? I mean, I do have some trainers, about 20 or so I guess so maybe that's enough for now.. but what about all the diapers I just invested in? It's going to kill me know how much money they cost and not be using them.. It's been many years since I've PL a baby so my memory is a little rusty.. but, from beginning to finish, please share how long the process took with you all.. I don't want to hinder him by keeping him in diapers, but don't want to push either.. thoughts, opinions, advice???

Hey.. another thought comes to mind.. how do you teach a boy to pee? Standing up, or sitting down? And why the heck don't I remember how we did this with my almost 15 year old son?!?!

How long would you give it until you'd consider it being 'for sure PLed'? Like maybe if he goes potty consistently for 2 weeks straight? more? Oh, that would be so cool if he's an easy PLer after all!

Re: Stuck between CDs and PLing...

My DH was deployed when DS PLed, I taught him sitting down then once he was going for a month I showed him he could stand up!

I waited until my DS was using the potty for like 2weeks before selling his diapers.

My DS woke up one morning and didnt want a diaper on, that was it!

Re: Stuck between CDs and PLing...

Oh.. yours was a very easy learner, lucky you!! I know my girls were much easier to PL than my older son, but he also does have aspergers and he was nearly 4 before he understood the concept.
Thanks for sharing with me! Oh, and it's great to see your dh is back home with you all again.. good luck on ttc #3!
