Angry Broken Washer

I think I broke my washer last night.

DS has had diarreah (sp) and last night, I put 2 of those dipes straight in the wash since it was basically liquid poo. I wanted to watch the agitator so I pushed down the lid lock with my finger and it broke off. THat didnt seem to be a problem because it just assumes the lid is down and kept on agitating. But, now it doesnt drain or spin. I dont think it is related to what I broke, but probably from putting the dirty dipes in. DO you think I clogged the drain? I figured since it was liquid poo, it wouldnt do any damage, just like breastmilk poo.

So I try to take the washer apart and the damn thing is riveted together so I cannot even get to the drain!

I dont know what to do! I cannot afford a new washer and I cant afford a repair man either ( who will likely not enjoy working on a washer full of poo water )

Just needed to vent!

Re: Broken Washer

My old washer would agitate with the lid open but it would not spin with it open, so I am thinking since you broke that sensor that is why it won't spin, if you can some how make it think that sensor is pushed down it should rinse and spin for you. Maybe you can use a screw driver to push the little bit that is left of the sensor down and I bet it will rinse/spin/drain for you.

Some one correct me if I am wrong but I am 99% washers agitate while open but wont spin.

Re: Broken Washer

My washer just broke last week. It would adgitate but it wouldn't spin the water out, my pump was clogged with one of my nursing pads. I hope it is something simple! I doubt the poo diapers clogged your washer.

If you broke that little thing off your washer probably thinks the lid is open, not closed which would be why it is only adgitating. A washer with only spin and rinse if the lid is closed and when you are closing your lid now, it's most likely not making contact because you broke the piece off. Have you tried to wedge somethign in there, maybe a screw driver and tried to push whats left down to see if it spins and drains?
