excess lipase?

Anyone have and can anything be done about it besides scalding milk? sorry nak

I'm pretty sure I have excess lipase in my milk too, I never tried anything.. I really don't think it will hurt anything.. He just turned 2 and is very healthy.

Hey! I've got that. I just don't pump, dd doesn't take a bottle anyways But I've talked to my LC about it alot and she said all you can really do is scald it. But as long as your LO isn't in the premie stages or failing to thrive its ok, bc it takes better then formula(at least in my dd's mind) and it still has lots of vitamins.

Its an enzyme that breaks down the fat in the milk. When you have too much your milk goes sour faster, so you have to scald it to kill the enzyme and in doing that you kill all the enzymes. It just makes pumping and storing take longer

I don't think so. If your child rejects the expressed milk and you think it's the lipase, the only solution is scalding prior to freezing.
