fever help please

My 2.5 year old has a fever of 103.6 and I was wondering what I could do naturally to help it lower or make her feel better...the only ideas I've had are a bath and chamoille tea...Is breaking a fever with blankets a bad idea? I don't know I just know that's what my family did when I was little and I wanted to know if that was harmful.

As you can see I'm not used to fevers in this household.

Re: fever help please

I have always found that running naked, and a tepid bath work the best. However, you don't want them to shiver at all. This actually brings up the body temp. As far as the blankets, I don't know.

When my DD gets a temp, it will spike quick. (and it always spikes really high 104 and above) So if it hasn't come down in 45 minutes, I go right to the tylenol. Then if it hasn't broke i'll piggyback Motrin. But, this is only because we have ended up in the hospital before.

Goodluck Momma!!! I hate dealing with fevers.
