Re: confused about prefolds

It depends on how you use them? Are you going to snappi/pin them or are you going to trifold. I can't help on what size for snappi/pining, but for trifolding I think you would need the premie size. Either way I am pretty sure most start with the premie sized ones. Sorry I'm not much help am I? How bout a

Infant sized are workable but big. If you're planning on using a lot of them, you might consider preemies.

Depends on the size of your baby.... my DS was almost 7 lbs at birth and we had to use sposies b/c our Chinese infant prefolds were way too large, now at 9 lbs, he is starting to grow a bit out of the regular CPF and we just invested in some Thirsties premiums and they fit better. I love prefolds, BTW, we use all pockets on my older DS and I would just love to try prefolds on him!

Re: confused about prefolds

We used prefolds exclusively when we first started. I had a 3 yr old, 1.5 yr old and newborn in infant prefolds. We just trifold and put in a cover (bummis and proraps worked the best for us). The infants were a little big on my newborn but I just folded the front down (he's a boy so this just gave us more layers for him) until he was big enough for it to be full size (it wasn't long as he was a fast grower!!). If you don't want to have to buy more than one size for a while (I still use infant with him and he's 13months now) I would just go with the infants and fold down the front for a while (money was an issue with 3 in diaper for us!).
