How to prep bamboo

I just got my cotton babies bamboo fitted-it's super soft. How do I prep it. Does it need to be washed 3-5 times like other natural fibers? Seems like such a waste since this is the only dipe I would be washing. Can I boil it instead? If so how long and just in water?

I've just washed mine once and put them in use and had no problems.

It depends on how many times the maker washed it, but bamboo needs to be washed several times to get the oils out like hemp. Personally when I'm sewing I go ahead and pre-wash the fabrics as much as they need to be before I sew with them.

once definitely wasn't enough for me. of course, maybe i just have a supersoaker. i've washed it maybe 3-4x so far and he still pees through a bamboo fitted (not the BG one, though) in an hour.
