Re: What is "full term"?
lol, IMO full term is when your body freely goes into active labor and your birth a healthy baby!
I have always been told (by professionals) that a full term pregnancy is 36-40+ weeks, but heaven forbid ANYONE goes over 42 weeks. They will NOT stop labor at 36 weeks, will let you birth.. yet, OMFG if you are not in active labor by 42.1 weeks your baby is in danger.. *ROLLING MY EYES HERE* I would be grateful to my body if it allowed my baby to stay for 42+ weeks. I firmly believe that your baby will be ready for birth when YOUR BODY and YOUR BABY are fully developed. I said to someone who asked when my baby was due (just last week)... "well, she could come as early as 5 weeks or stay another 12 weeks"... you should have seen their face, complete horror!

Re: What is "full term"?
37, but for myself I'd consider 36 full term. I seem to cook them faster.

Re: What is "full term"?
My doctor doesn't consider full term until 38 weeks. I think it depends on your history and their preference.

Re: What is "full term"?
Depends on the state. In AZ preterm is before 36 weeks. Not 36 completed weeks but 36 weeks. So if you are 35 weeks 6 days you are preterm.
Post term everywhere is 42 weeks 1 day and on.

Re: What is "full term"?
My doctor says 38 weeks
![]() although I feel (& this coming from a mama who is completely worn out this pregnancy) the longer the better...my son was 39w5d,no issues...the girls came 1- 1/2 weeks early and all had small issues....JMHO though...just because a baby is 6lbs. doesnt mean its as healthy as it could be by baking a few weeks longer
