Freezing Bananas
I have some ripe bananas that would be perfect for bread but we are not quite done renovating the kitchen so I have no stove and it will still be 2 more days before I do. Can I just throw the bananas in the freezer-peels and all or do I need to do something with them first. Thanks

Re: Freezing Bananas
Yes, we freeze bananas all the time. I know you're using them for banana bread, but one of DH's favorite things is making smoothies! So, we always keep frozen bananas cut up in the freezer for him to throw in the blender!

Re: Freezing Bananas
If you're planing on thawing them before using when you're ready for then you can just toss them in the freezer (no need to peel or wrap), but be warned that the peels will turn all black/brown when frozen, but there's nothing wrong with them.
If you want to use the bananas when they are still frozen you should peel them and plop them in a freezer bag or something. I would chop them too depending on the use. |

Re: Freezing Bananas
Also, the peel will get pretty gross if you thaw them afterwards, and the banana will get really soft and squishy. Perfect for making banana bread, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
