i got mine back at 4.5 months pp and never stopped bfing - unfortunately for some of us that's just the way the cookie crumbles. i was a bit bummed too. on the positive side however, i noticed a marked improvement in my libido and general comfort during sex once AF returned.

it took mine about 3 cycles or so to get back to a normal pattern.

Is it just me or does bf'ing and having AF make you SUPER hungry? LOL

Re: Iregular postpartum cycles?

Yeah, I was a bit befuddled this time.. With every one of my boys AF came at 6mo pp and was regular (30-32 days), with only ovulation timing being 'off'. This time it took 8mo pp for AF to show up - it was the first time I actually tested before having my first pp AF! Not that I minded the extra couple of months. Part of me really hopes that I'll stay regular, but part of me also hopes that she won't show up again until I'm done nursing. Fat chance!

Um.. YEAH! I've gained a good 5lb (not a small amount for someone who's 5'2"!) since af returned. Ugh.. One of my PMS symptoms when I'm nursing is serious carb craving!

Re: Iregular postpartum cycles?

With my last PP af I got it back with dd was 1 yr or 13 months? Between #1 and #2 was 2 months. #2 and #3 were 6wks apart and #3 and #4 would have most likely been about 4wks apart. I cant say for SURE because that was the cycle I got preggo, but by my dates it was right on for a 4wk cycle.

Between #1 and #2 I was POAS every few days from 1 month to I got af a month later. That was a waste of money. Sad thing was, DH told me that I was wasting $$ because "things arent going to be regular right off the bat its going to take some time to get regulated". I didnt listen to him..and then when my period showed up a month later...I was imbarraced Pretty bad when your dh is right about a problem he doesnt even have!

My cycles were regular from the time they returned with DS...so I was SURE I had to be preggo. I wasnt. YET. LOL
