Where to pump in the airport?
This thread is a spin off of flying with expressed milk...
Where did you pump in an airport if you have had to before? I am hoping to be able to avoid it when I fly next week, but since flights are often delayed I guess I should plan ahead... Also, did anyone have trouble carrying on their pump?

Re: Where to pump in the airport?
What type of pump are you bringing? The only time I've traveled without nursling I brought a hand pump and I didn't carrying it on so I'm not sure about that. I have never had to pump in the airport but I am pretty sure I've seen family bathrooms and/or nursing rooms? I would call your airport and ask if they have something like that and where it is so you can be prepared, just in case.

Re: Where to pump in the airport?
I carried on my pump and BM without any problems...didn't even get asked about it. I used a hand pump and had my baby with me, so I also nursed. I would ask an employee for special assistance...they have to provide you with somewhere to pump...the airlines have gotten really bad press about BFing in the last year or so....delta asking the BFing lady not to, etc.

Re: Where to pump in the airport?
I'd call the airport to find out where you can pump or look at their web-site. I remember hearing a store a while back about making a bfing mom drink her own breastmilk or dump it out because of the liquids on planes ban. Hopefully you don't encounter any problems.

Re: Where to pump in the airport?
The pump I am taking is a PISA. I am hoping the timing will allow me to not pump at the airport. I don't mind finding a quiet corner booth in a restaurant if I have to, just hoping I don't have to!

Re: Where to pump in the airport?
the liquid worry is over (after the whole liquid bomb thing about 1.5 years ago). u will not have an issue w/ having to carry the bm.
i would ask at the check-in if you can use a place or even the first class area. some places are accomedating, but i say some!!!

Re: Where to pump in the airport?
I know a lot of women go EWWW a bathroom I'm not pumping in there! but when we flew last year for Christmas we found a family restroom. The toilet is completely separate from the sink and a changing table and a chair. If I had to pump I would have pumped in there.
