Natural Bug Repellant that works?

I don't want to put all those harsh chemicals on my kids, but there are lots of mosquitoes here. One DS in particular is very sensitive to the bites, and of course he gets attacked the worst. I don't want to spend my $ on it if it does not work, so what works?

IMO, the best are Gentle Naturals (sold at BRU - I think $7.99 for 4oz) and the one I make ($12 for 8oz, or I can do smaller amounts too).

Beat it! Developed and tested in Florida swamps...I used it working as a park ranger there..it's what all of the chemical averse park rangers and biologists I know in Florida use. You can google it for more info.

If you can find someone that makes it out of catnip, that works great. The place I got mine is no longer around, unfortunately.

Re: Natural Bug Repellant that works?

I got a some natural bug spray from walmart last year that worked well. I can't remember what it's called and can't find it right now . But I think it had Eucaluptus and maybe lemmon? I thought it smelled pretty good and worked great too.

Re: Natural Bug Repellant that works?

i use burts bees apricot oil on dd after her bath and when she's outiside playing i put burts bees insect repellent on her.
the insect repellent is oilly but does soak in. the oil alone does work pretty good but i'm not great at remembering it everyday.
