Re: Anyone else losing their hair?

Quit wearing ponytails - very hard to hide that way.
Happened to me for all 3 - each at 5 months - the first 2 only lasted a few months before I was satisified that it was returning - this time 15 months and finally can call them bangs (though they go 4 inches back), but definately returning. Never found any magical treatment - only patience, creative hair styles and hats!
GL - you are not alone. Hope it returns soon!

Re: Anyone else losing their hair?

i read something about this the other day. it has something to do with the stress that the body goes through post partum. It interupts the hair's growth cycle. And, since we had growth hormone helping our hair grow thick and shiny for the previous 9months, there is alot more hair available to lose.

Once the body adjusts to the stress (both external and internal) the hair loss will slow to normal and your normal amount of hair will regrow.

i wish i remember where i read that. I'm almost 3months PP and am shedding terribly. Happened with DS1 as well.

Re: Anyone else losing their hair?

I'm so glad I saw this thread. My hair has been falling out like crazy and I thought i was alone! It just keeps coming out in clumps.....I don't know who sheds more...me or the dog (a golden retriever) My LO is almost 5 months. I hope my hair quits falling out soon

Glad to know other mommas are in the same boat

Re: Anyone else losing their hair?

Thanks everybody! It's just everywhere, I can't look at the floor or a piece of anyone's clothes without finding a hair. I need to keep it pulled back when I'm working in the kitchen so it doesn't fall in the food (which is almost everyday). I ordered some of the RestHAIRation shampoo my in-laws got me last time with DC#1, seemed to help but might have just been naturally coming back after a certain time PP, who knows. I'm calling it my Mothers Day present cuz it's not cheap. Good luck everyone!

Re: Anyone else losing their hair?

I'm losing in clumps and mine started coming out about 4 weeks ago! I thought I had another month or two of nice pg hair but nope.

My mother has horrible female pattern baldness and I'm already thin on top. I'm scared to death I'll end up like her!!!!

I hope it stops soon or I'll be tempted to lose a little length.

Re: Anyone else losing their hair?

Try Nioxin, it def helps!
It's a special shampoo, shop around though to get a good deal.
They have it for several hair types and depending if you are visually thinning.
Warning though, when you stop using it your hair will start falling out again.
