I know that I have issues with my milk coming in amply, but last time didn't realize there was things to do to help with that so I was constantly hooked up to the pump, and nursing, and ultimately I think that's part of why we stopped so early (6 mos).

My goal this time is to go for self-weaning, so I'm wondering if we can start taking it a few days before baby is born to get a jump start on it?

It helps with your milk supply...but it's a medication...from what I understand it's a bit stronger than the fenugreek

oh ok, is it OTC or script? I like the fenugreek cause it's herbal, but I smell like pancakes as hubby puts it

I DON'T think you can take it while pg. Your milk could take a few days to come in anyway, so I think if you really want to take it you could wait until after the baby is born.
Have you tried fenugreek and the like before? Mothers Milk Tea, etc? I've taken domp. and I really wouldn't recommend it until you've tried the herbs, etc. I took it to re-lactate, not to boost my supply. It can do some nasty things to you physically and emotionally, that's why I want to make sure you tried the herbs before.

I don't want you to go through more than you have to.
With the domp I ate a bunch of oatmeal - you can try that, too. Make sure you drink tons of water!
