Tetanus shot okay for me?

I stepped on a needle last night while sewing. And then found out this morning that my last tetanus shot was over 11 years ago. Is it okay for me to get one today while bfing my daughter? I may be pregnant as well but am not going to check until the end of the month!

I would say yes. They advised me to get one in the hospital after DD was born --> which I did. I believe DD also got one in her first round of shots. But I'm not a professional!

I would think so. The best way to know is to call your doc and ask.

Thanks, I made an appointment with the local health department here. We just moved to a new town and DH's insurance doesn't start until June 1st. I will double check with them of course before I get the shot.

I needed on while I was bf'ing a 14 month old, and the lactation consultant from the hospital okayed it. I am not sure about exposure while pregnant, better ask an ob.
