Is PP post pregnancy? If so no, he is almost 2. Have you ever heard of this before? Maybe I need to start charting? But for that you have to stay in bed right?

Re: LOOooooNG Period

I had a period that lasted 6 weeks before I went to the doctor about it. He had to put me on BCPs to stop it. You should call your doctor. That's too long to be bleeding unchecked. It could be a sign of a problem. In my case, it should have been an indicator that I have PCOS, but the doctor I had at the time was too ignorant to realize it.

Re: LOOooooNG Period

I posted about this a couple weeks ago. I got my first PPAF the last week in JULY when Clara was 8 months old and it still hasn't stopped. It happened to me when our first DD was about a year old too and I was also given BC pills to stop it, which is why I haven't gone back this time. It didn't help me much and made me feel sick. I also think it was how the Dr. got out of actually testing to find out WHY it was happening. I promised DH that if it doesn't stop by this weekend I'll call and make an appt but I'm definitely making them test because like Severine said, it can be a sign of PCOS and a few other things.

Re: LOOooooNG Period

HUm that makes me wonder. What can be done for PCOS? If nothing, there is no point for me to go to the Dr. I am not going to get on BCP. I don't have a good feeling about them. I have been on them before but now, it seems different. Is the waxing and waining what you all experienced or was it all full forse bleeding. Could this be the reason that I have beenfeeling so tired and dizzy? If so, what can I do about it, take iorn pills. Thank goodness I have the keeper, if not I would be spending LOTS of money.

Those of you with PCOS, what are your periods like otherwise?

Just as devil's advocate here... my 1st pregnancy I bled for about 3 weeks before I went to the doctor and they found I had an ectopic pregnancy. Not that this is necessarily the case here, but just so you know to ask about it when you call in... Good luck!
