Re: Are there any hypoallergenic formulas that don't have DHA/ARA?

I am also recently not comfortable with the dha/ara lately... but if he has to have it due to a formula that works for him I will... I just wanted to try the alimentum without first, but since it's not available the next step per our ped was neocate.. and it just so happens that neocate has both formula with and without the dha/ara.... I hope the non-dha/ara happens to help too but I'm not expecting it.

Unfortunately thats not true.. DH was on it in 2006 and even then it all had it in. It says tested without because the tests were done years ago BEFORE dha/ara was introduced. Theyve all been discontinued now.

Neocate I believe is the only hypollergenic formula that makes one w/o it.. but it costs about $50 a can.

Re: Are there any hypoallergenic formulas that don't have DHA/ARA?

Yeah I figured that out when I went to the store yesterday.
Ds wasn't tolerating the alimentum well anyway, so we are now trying neocate. He had a REALLY good morning.... first morning in a long time he didn't scream through his feeding.... so I'm hopeful and crossing my fingers. The Neocate is $37/can at our walmart pharmacy. We have wic though so if it works we'll get his prescription switched to neocate.
